John B. Pound received his undergraduate degree in history from the University of New Mexico in 1968 and his Juris Doctor degree from Boston College in 1971. He clerked for the Honorable Oliver Seth in the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit in 1971-1972. Mr. Pound has tried cases to juries throughout New Mexico. He has developed particular expertise in the fields of antitrust law, civil rights law, professional malpractice, hospital law, products liability, employment law, and mineral law. While representing the New Mexico Medical Association, Mr. Pound drafted the New Mexico Medical Malpractice Act. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was selected for inclusion in the publication The Best Lawyers in America. He is a Board Member of Catholic Social Services, co-founder of the Oliver Seth Inn of Court and a Fellow in the American and New Mexico Bar Foundations. Mr. Pound is a Member of the Bars of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit, the United States District Court, District of New Mexico and the Supreme Court of New Mexico. He and his wife, Mary Ann, have a daughter, Meghan, an attorney in Boulder, Colorado, and a son, Matthew, an Albuquerque police officer.
